Outline of Research at the Start

歯科用エアタービンハンドピース（以下歯科ドリル）の音対策は患者が快適に治療を受けるための重要な課題である。これまでに申請者は、「歯科ドリル音の何が嫌なのか」という問いに対して、不快感を生む音響物理的特徴を明らかにしてきた。次なる問い「どうすれば嫌な音の発生を抑えられるのか」、本研究では、歯科ドリルの構造の違いによる発生音を、計算科学と実測を組み合わせて検討する。また、耳から入る気導音に加えて歯から伝わる歯導音を含む心理評価実験による検証を行うことで、不快感を低減した歯科ドリルの開発につなげる。
