Outline of Research at the Start

本研究で動脈硬化の指標として用いる「中心血圧（central blood pressure: CBP）」は現在の動脈硬化の程度を測定するのみならず、末梢血圧(blood pressure: BP）よりも将来の動脈硬化の進行や循環器疾患の発症の予測性に優れている。これらの患者ではすでに口腔環境・口腔機能が低下し、口腔環境を悪化させる細菌叢が増加している可能性がある。本研究の目的は、高齢者の動脈硬化の程度・進行リスクと口腔環境・口腔機能および口腔細菌叢との関連性を調査することで、高齢者における動脈硬化の進行リスクと将来にわたる口腔環境・口腔機能の低下リスクの関連性を解明することである。
