Outline of Research at the Start

がん関連線維芽細胞から分泌されたSASP因子ががんの進展を助長することが知られている。代表者らは口腔癌細胞から分泌するSASP因子の候補を見いだしており、それらのうち幾つかはコレステロール生合成に生じることが明らかとなっている。
本研究では高LDLコレステロール環境下で口腔癌細胞から分泌される新規SASP因子を同定し、脂質異常症ががんの進展、転移に及ぼす機構を解明することを目的とする。本研究により新たに同定されたSASP因子は血中、唾液中で簡便に測定可能な腫瘍マーカーとしての臨床応用が期待されると同時に、新たながん予防の概念が提唱される可能性もある。
