Outline of Research at the Start

口腔扁平上皮癌では、様々な薬剤が使用可能となったが、治療効果は限定的である。本研究では、細胞接着と免疫チェックポイントの二つの機能を包含する膜貫通タンパク質CD155/PVRを、新規治療ターゲット候補として注目する。CD155/PVRは、上皮細胞で細胞間接着分子として同定される一方、抗原提示細胞や癌細胞では、免疫細胞に発現するTIGITと免疫チェックポイントを形成している。本研究では、口腔扁平上皮癌で発現するCD155/PVRを、細胞接着とがん免疫チェックポイントについて、両者のクロストークを含め明らかにする。更に、抗PVR抗体、免疫薬物複合体を作出し、新規治療戦略ストラテジーの立脚を目指す。
