Outline of Research at the Start

脳に高い局在を示すオーファン受容体 GPR158 が、網羅的遺伝子解析の結果やノックアウトマウスの解析結果から、発達障害や認知機能低下、うつ症状と関連することが明らかとなり注目されている。すなわち、受容体 GPR158 は精神疾患の新たな治療標的となりうる。
本研究では GPR158 リガンドである骨基質タンパク質オステオカルシン（OC）やアミノ酸のグリシンの投与が認知機能維持やうつ症状の抑制に及ぼす影響を行動薬理学的、免疫組織学的解析により明らかにする。本研究成果を通じ、副作用の少ない様々な脳機能障害の予防・改善方法開発への展開を目指す。
