Outline of Research at the Start	顎関節症の中でも骨の変性を伴うTMJ-OAは、開口障害や咬合不全の要因とされているが、他の関節の変形性関節症と同様治療は困難を有することが多い。近年、連続的に結合した硫黄原子を含有する有機化合物である超硫黄分子の存在が明らかになり、強い抗炎症作用と抗酸化活性を有することから、さまざまな炎症性疾患との関係性が注目されている。TMJ-OAも滑膜細胞の炎症が発症に大きな影響を与えていることが報告されている。そこで、本研究は、滑膜細胞における超硫黄分子の生成と影響を解析し、TMJ-OAでの超硫黄分子の関与を明らかにすることで、TMJ-OAに対する新規予防・治療薬の開発に繋げることを目的とする。
