Outline of Research at the Start

口腔扁平上皮癌の発生においては，正常粘膜に遺伝子変異が蓄積することにより，上皮異形成・上皮内癌・浸潤癌という過程を経て進行する発癌メカニズムが提唱されている．この過程において，予防効果を示す治療法の開発は極めて有用である．緑茶成分のカテキンは，近年その抗腫瘍作用が報告されているが，口腔癌や，その中で発生頻度の高い舌癌における，カテキンの有用性についての検証は殆どなされていない．申請者は，前癌病変や浸潤癌への進行過程に対するカテキンの作用を検証したい．具体的には，誘発舌癌モデルマウスにおけるカテキンの発癌予防効果の検討と分子機構(アポトーシス関連，増殖因子関連，血管新生関連)を解明したい．
