Outline of Research at the Start

先天性部分無歯症は歯列不正の原因となり、様々な問題を引き起こす。長鎖ノンコーディングRNA (lncRNA)は、歯の発生時の上皮組織と間葉組織の相互作用を制御していることが報告されているが、これまで本疾患の原因としてlncRNAの関与は報告されていない。
そこで、本研究では先天性部分無歯症の原因となるlncRNAの同定を目指し、その機能を検証する。本研究は、先天性部分無歯症の新たな分子機構を明らかにし、歯の再生治療薬開発事業への一助となる。さらに別の機序で歯の再生を目指すRNA創薬の足掛かりとなる可能性がある。
