Outline of Research at the Start

現在の日本人小児における顎顔面領域の機能低下（表情の乏しさなど）や「お口ぽかん」と称される誤った機能獲得（口呼吸）を診るに、口腔機能発達管理は急務である。本研究では、小児の舌運動機能発達の適切な支援や管理を目的として、顎顔面発育および口腔機能発達に大きな影響を与える舌に着目し、３歳未満児にも適用可能なより簡便で侵襲性のない口腔機能発達検査法の確立を目指し、光学的齲蝕検出法を応用した舌の表面性状のデジタルイメージ解析による舌運動機能評価法を検証する。
