Outline of Research at the Start

ステージ4の大腸がんの生存期間は約30か月で、治癒は難しいが、薬物療法が選択され、症状の緩和や生存期間の延長が期待される。腸内細菌叢が抗癌剤治療の効果や全生存率に影響を与える可能性が示されており、口腔内細菌が腸内細菌に影響することも報告されている。そこで「大腸がんステージ4の緩和治療において、口腔内細菌叢・口腔内状態が治療反応性（生存期間）・QoLに影響するのではないか」と考えた。我々は、大腸がんステージ4患者の口腔内細菌叢と口腔状態の特徴を明らかにし、それらの特徴と治療反応性・QoLとの関連を解析することにより、口腔内細菌叢の改善が治療反応性やQoLに寄与する可能性を検討する。
