Outline of Research at the Start	本研究では、AITCの抗菌作用と機序の解明を経て臨床応用への可能性について、すなわちAITCを用いた口腔ケア剤の作製と臨床での応用方法の開発である。本研究成果から歯周病およびこれを起因とする全身疾患の新たな発症予防法を確立し、この予防法は、今問題となっている高齢者フレイルの予防、国民の健康およびQOLの向上、平均寿命の延伸および平均寿命と健康寿命との差の短縮に寄与して高齢者医療費の軽減に繋がるものと確信している。
