Outline of Research at the Start

カンジダリシン（Clys）は、Candida albicansを含むカンジダ属真菌が産生するペプチド毒素で、カンジダ症の病原因子である。Clysは粘膜上皮細胞の細胞膜を傷害することで細胞機能を障害し、口腔カンジダ症の病態形成に寄与すると考えられている。
本研究は、これまで注目されてこなかったClysの細胞内での生物活性に焦点を当て、その侵入経路、局在、標的分子を同定することで細胞障害活性を特定し、Clysの新たな病原性を同定することを目標として計画された。さらに、特定されたClysの細胞障害活性を反映した、口腔カンジダ症の新規予防・治療法開発への基礎的知見の獲得も本研究の目的である。
