超高齢化社会の中、歯科の在宅サービスは今後確実に増加する。一方、災害の多い我が国では身元確認等でも歯科的対応が必要であり、これからの歯科医師は診療室内・外での様々な対応が求められる。
歯科診療において画像診断は不可欠であり、以前から移動・携帯型の口内法Ｘ線撮影装置は存在するが、近年、携帯型で手持ちでの撮影を意図するX線装置の関連法が整備された。この新しい装置の安全利用に関するエビデンスの整備が急務であるため、手持ち撮影を意図する新しい携帯型Ｘ線装置を利用する際に、種々の付加防護策による迷放射線分布から術者側の不必要な被曝を無くす方策を検討し、安全かつ効果的な利用法を確立することを目的とする。
