Outline of Research at the Start

消化器外科疾患の治療方針を決定するために、高齢者やフレイルを有する患者の状態には特に注意をはらう必要がある。本研究ではデータベースを用いて75歳以上の高齢者の消化器手術後の機能的予後の実態を明らかにすることを目標にする。申請者らはこれまでに「Frailtyを有する患者において、がんによって著しく身体機能が低下した状態」を「Cancer Frailty」と概念的に定義し、治療方針決定に応用することを提唱してきた。本研究では、この全く新しい切り口である「Cancer Frailty」を、一般的な臨床データを用いて操作的に定義し、今後の臨床、研究の基盤となるような成果をあげたいと考えている。
