Outline of Research at the Start	公立病院は、民間病院等で提供が困難な「政策医療」の実施が期待され、自治体から税金が投入されているものの、それでもなお公立病院は長期的な赤字経営が続き、経営の持続可能性に課題を抱えている。しかし、赤字の要因が政策医療の提供によるものなのか、非効率な経営によるものなのかは、明らかではない。そこで本研究は、自治体による公立病院に対する税金の投入と、政策医療提供の状況を調査し、税金投入の有効性・効率性を明らかにすることを目的として実施する。この研究により、自治体における公立病院運営の持続可能性に向けた議論への示唆や、政策医療の在り方に関する知見を得ることが期待される。
