Outline of Research at the Start

わが国のてんかん患者は約100万人と推定される．てんかんの特徴は「多様性」と表現され様々な社会的背景が存在し，今後増加が予測される医療費の問題などのが複雑に絡み合い，課題が多い．本研究は，てんかん患者の様々な社会的背景や医療費の削減を考慮した「日本版 てんかん治療に関するエキスパートコンセンサス」を新規作成し，国内外に広く発信することである．これにより「どのような社会的背景のあるてんかん患者に，どの抗てんかん発作薬を投与すべきか」という，我々臨床医にとっての最大の課題を解決するとともに，多様なてんかん治療における標準化治療指針が作成され，てんかん診療における医療費の削減に貢献するものである．
