Outline of Research at the Start

Lung cancer causes 7 million annual deaths in Japan, with radon progeny (Po-218/Po-214) being a major risk. This study develops the world’s first passive radon progeny detector (CR-39+Mylarfilm) to enable cost-effective, large-scale monitoring, positioning Japan as a global leader in radon research.
