本研究では大規模コホート研究を通して、水溶性食物繊維が腸内酪酸産生菌を介して、近年世界的に増加している代謝機能障害関連脂肪肝疾患の発症と進展に及ぼす影響を明らかにする。本研究を通して生活習慣病として近年増加している代謝機能障害関連脂肪肝疾患に有効な水溶性食物繊維の摂取量やプロバイオティクスの開発を目指す。
