Outline of Research at the Start

サブサハラアフリカの乳幼児死亡率は高く、主な要因に栄養不良が挙げられている。本研究課題の目的は、ベナン村落部のダンボを調査地とし、伝統的な食事を尊重しながら栄養価を上げ、かつ、村落部でも入手しやすい食材を使用した離乳食レシピ教材を開発し、その実施可能性を検討することである。本研究課題は、サブサハラアフリカの貧困層をターゲットとし、離乳期の子どもの栄養改善を支援する。また、離乳食指導に関するこれまでの日本の豊かな知見や実践と現地の文化や資源を融合することで、開発途上国が抱える乳幼児の栄養に関する課題解決のための持続可能な方策を探るものである。
