若年性認知症ケアラー・メンタープログラムは「介護者ができる介護者支援」という枠組みの中で「共感性」「地域に根差した情報提供」という特性を持つ。若年性認知症者を看取った経験のある介護者のピアサポートや日本ペアレント・メンタープログラムの視察を通して活動の重要ポイントを知る。若年性認知症家族会へのインタビューにより他者に望むこと、してほしくないことの理解を行い、ケアラー・メンタープログラムの内容を検討する。開発したプログラムでパイロットスタディを行い、ケアラー・メンターとメンティの経験を調査し、介入プログラムに修正を加える。認知症疾患医療センターと行政のバックアップ体制を構築する。
