Outline of Research at the Start

独居高齢者の増加や多死社会の進行により、地域での医療・介護資源の確保と終末期支援の重要性が高まっている。申請者は都内団地での認知症共生社会の実装研究を通じ、地域が終末期支援に関与する意義に着目した。本研究では、Kelleherが提唱する「Compassionate Communities（CC）」の構築可能性を探り、独居認知症高齢者が尊厳ある最期を迎えるために必要な地域社会の要件を明らかにすることを目的とする。CCは死や喪失への地域の関わりを重視し、医療中心の枠組みからの転換を促すが、日本では研究や実装が不十分であり、本研究はその可能性を初めて実証的に検討することを目指す。
