Outline of Research at the Start

これまで客観的な指標として示すことが困難である認知症ケアの有効性について、脳血流量を計測する携帯型脳活動計測装置（fNIRS）を用い、可視化・数値化することに力を入れてきた。今回は、変化が捉えにくいとされる重度認知症者に着目し、認知症ケアの効果についてfNIRSを用いて可視化・数値化を試みる。本研究において重度認知症者に対する認知症ケアと脳血流量の関連についてデータを集積し、相関が見られれば、反応が得られにくい中で行われている重度認知症者に対するケアに対し、重要なエビデンスの一つが付与される。これまで曖昧に評価されてきた認知症ケアの内容を、科学的かつ客観的なデータとともに示す意義は大きい。
