Outline of Research at the Start

高齢者において、骨格筋の衰えは生活の質の低下を引き起こし、延いては健康寿命の低下へとつながる。従って、長期の入院や骨折による活動低下により引き起こされる廃用性筋萎縮からの早期回復が必要となってくる。先行研究において廃用性筋萎縮からの回復時に重要な働きを行うと考えられるタンパク質を見出したことから、本タンパク質に焦点を当てた治療法開発のための基礎研究を行う。
