Outline of Research at the Start	加齢によって筋力が低下する理由の一つとして、運動神経から筋肉への信号が伝わりにくくなっていることが考えられる。本研究では、これを人間の筋肉を対象に評価する方法を確立し、信号の伝わりやすさが若齢者と高齢者でどのように異なるのか、加齢による筋力低下にどのくらい関係しているかなどを明らかにすることを目的としている。これらの目的が達成されることで、サルコペニア（加齢による筋肉量と筋力の低下）の早期発見や早期対応が可能になるものと期待される。
