本研究では，肢体不自由や知的障がいの投てき競技者が投てき競技（全国障害者スポーツ大会種目の砲丸投やソフトボール投）を行うために必要な投てき技術について，一般の陸上競技のコーチング科学で醸成された指導方法を援用し，障害特性に伴う個別性に対応した指導内容へと改変する手立てを提示することを目的とする．そのために，肢体不自由や知的障がいの投てき競技者における投てき動作の解析と，肢体不自由者においては投てき動作に伴う身体知を把握し，不自由な身体をどのように駆使して動かそうと意識して競技を行っているかを，また知的障がい者においてはどの程度，身体知を把握できているのかを，それぞれ質的研究により解明する．
