Outline of Research at the Start

糖尿病網膜症は病態初期に網膜神経変性が生じ、視力障害に至る重篤な眼疾患であるが、網膜神経変性を防ぐ方法は現在のところ確立されていない。最近、我々は1日の食事時間を制限する断続的断食が糖尿病モデルマウスで生じる網膜神経変性に対して抑制効果を示すことを明らかにした。本研究では、申請者らが最近得たトランスクリプトーム解析結果を基に、断続的断食による網膜神経保護作用機構を解明することで、糖尿病網膜症予防法としての断続的断食の有用性を追究する。
