Outline of Research at the Start

本研究では、妊娠糖尿病妊婦でみられる子宮内高血糖環境が生まれた子どもの脳神経機能にどのような影響を与えるかを解明し、妊娠中の食事によって改善できるか否かを検討する。これまでに最終糖化産物(AGEs)の蓄積はアルツハイマー型認知症や注意欠陥多動性障害(ADHD)と深く相関することが報告されている。胎児期に高血糖に曝されることは、未分化な脳の機能形成過程に多大な影響を及ぼし、出生後の神経発達障害の原因となる可能性は非常に高いと考えられる。本研究はその分子メカニズムを明らかにするとともに、妊娠期に予防効果のある食品機能成分の探索を行う。
