Outline of Research at the Start

老化に伴う腎機能の低下は無症状のうちに進行してしまうため、高齢者においては疾患発症の認識が遅れ重症化することが多い。重症化すると透析など一生涯の治療が必要なほか、血圧異常など循環器疾患を併発してしまう。根本的な解決のために、腎臓の老化と疾患を明確にするための①腎臓特異的な新規加齢バイオマーカーを同定し、②腎疾患モデル（糖尿病性腎症）との比較検討を行い、③ヒト臨床検体による相関を得ることを目的とする。そのために、様々な生体内機能に深く関わる糖鎖に着目し、腎臓の老化と疾患との関連性について検討する。そして、将来的に高齢者疾患の治療および予防のための糖鎖による早期診断マーカーの開発を目指す。
