Outline of Research at the Start

内臓脂肪蓄積は糖尿病をはじめとしてさまざまな代謝性疾患・臓器障害をともなう。特に糖尿病発症・進展に至るメカニズムの少なくとも一部には、脂肪組織と膵β細胞のクロストークが関与していると考えられるが、その詳細は明らかでない。本研究では、ヒト高度肥満者の脂肪組織の網羅的な遺伝子発現データをもとに、糖尿病の有無で差の認められる分子のうち、特に膵β細胞のインスリン分泌に影響を及ぼす可能性のある分泌因子・分泌関連蛋白を抽出して、その機能を解析し、代謝異常のバイオマーカーとなる可能性を探る。
