Outline of Research at the Start

The purpose of this project is to design efficient modelling procedures for data exhibiting a hierarchical structure (e.g., repeated measurements of a marker, patients grouped by area), as is often encountered in medical research. In particular, we will develop approaches (1) to study the impact of biomarker trends on the occurrence of a health event, and (2) to analyze the survival of patients living in different areas and treated in different hospitals.
The expected benefit is the design of user-friendly and efficient software to analyze health data with complex hierarchical structures.
