Outline of Research at the Start

地震や洪水などの災害時、発災直後から安否状況、被災状況、医療支援ニーズなどの把握は、迅速な救命活動のため不可欠である。一方で、通信設備故障や通信の輻輳などで安定した通信インフラが使用できなくなり、情報伝達において大きな支障となっていることが過去の災害で報告されている。本研究は、災害時の通信インフラの不安定さに対し、省電力通信を活用した災害時の迅速な状況把握のためのプラットフォームを研究開発し、その実現可能性と有用性を検証する。また、災害時を想定した実デバイスを用いた実験による、実用化のための技術的および運用的な課題を明らかにする。
