Outline of Research at the Start

計算機を用いた可視化は，特定の事象の存在を点や線などで描画する．つまり既存の可視化手法は「事象の存在」を可視化していることになる．言い換えれば，点や線が描画されていない箇所にはユーザの注目が集まりにくい．そのため，既存の可視化手法では事象の非存在を発見することは容易ではない．この点に着目して本研究課題では，逆転の発想として，データ中に「存在しない事象」を可視化する手法を研究開発する．具体例として，多次元データを題材として「点群が存在しない領域」を可視化する手法と，ネットワークデータを題材として「本来ならエッジがありそうなのにエッジで連結されていないノード」を可視化する手法を提案する．
