Outline of Research at the Start

Under the currently proposed research, we will develop machine learning model for predicting mechanisms or mode of actions (MOAs) of antibiotics. First, we will collect a comprehensive set of antibiotic compounds from databases and other online sources. Next, we will perform unsupervised clustering to assess the diversity of chemical structures of the antibiotics and we will add sub-labels to antibiotics corresponding to statistically significant clusters. We then develop supervised clustering model and identify MOA specific important features
