Outline of Research at the Start	球状炭化粒子は，産業活動による化石燃料の燃焼で排出され，堆積物にも長期保存されるミクロンサイズの粒子である．このため大気降下物のみでなく湖沼堆積物などを分析対象として，大気汚染の変遷や汚染源の特定に利用されているが，従来の識別手法は技術と時間が要求される．そこで本研究では，粒子画像解析装置を用いて自動識別システムを構築し，効率的で正確な粒子分析を可能にすることで，球状炭化粒子研究の普及と発展を目指す．
