Outline of Research at the Start

黒潮の影響を受ける日本沿岸の海洋生物群集の形成・維持機構の解明を革新的に進めるべく、海洋生物の南から北への積極的な輸送に関与する「黒潮ベルトコンベア説」と、琉球列島と九州の間にある生物相の境界形成に関与する「黒潮バリア説」の検証を行う。本研究課題では、海洋生物の老廃物や排泄物に由来する環境DNAベースの多種同時分子集団遺伝解析を実施し、生物輸送の過程を推定して検証を行う。
