Outline of Research at the Start

This study aims to clarify the relationship between plastic pollution and the mountain society and propose a collaborative solution for this problem. It aims to investigate the role played by local society which is considered as a key player in nature conservation in the area, behind both the problem and countermeasures to plastic pollution in the Japan's Alpine zone. The study conducts a transdisciplinary analysis through collaborative plastic waste reduction, and management by a team of researchers from the natural and social sciences, as well as members of the local community.
