Outline of Research at the Start	サハラ以南アフリカでは、都市化に伴う急速な人口増加により、都市の食料需要が増大している。国内食料流通の活性化が進むなか、ミクロなアクターを担い手とした実態は明らかになっていない。主食作物の商品化は、生産地農村においては世帯収入の向上、消費地都市においては食料安全保障につながる一方、自給／商品生産のバランス、都市－農村をつなぐ流通構造の不透明さ、脆弱性が課題となっている。本研究は、アフリカで広く消費されている主食作物キャッサバに焦点をあて、その生産・加工・販売・流通から消費に至るアクター分析を通じた、主食作物の商品化の実態解明をつうじて、現代アフリカ農業の商業的展開の一端を実証することを試みる。
