Outline of Research at the Start

パラグアイは、旧宗主国言語であるスペイン語と土着言語であるグアラニー語を憲法で公用語と定め、全国民のバイリンガル化を推進してきた特異な国である。しかしその一方で、現存する19の先住民族諸語の中でのグアラニー語の威信言語化という現象も生じている。本研究では、「複文化・二言語国家」を憲法に謳うパラグアイを事例として、子どもたちの母語を重視する教育の展開に着目し、多様な民族の自律的統合を実現するには、いかなる言語文化政策や教育改革が求められるのかを明らかにする。主として異文化間複言語教育の理念と実践に焦点を当てて分析を進め、多民族・多文化共生という今日の国際社会共通の課題に新たな視座を提示する。
