Outline of Research at the Start

廃プラ問題は、海洋汚染による漂着ゴミやマイクロプラスチックの発生、中国の廃棄物資源の輸入禁止、使い捨て製品や容器包装の使用増加など「地球規模課題」として認識されている。本研究は、廃プラ問題を①大量生産・対策国、②大量排出・海洋汚染国、③大量消費・未対策国の三つのカテゴリーと地域に区分し、プラスチックの使用・廃棄・再資源化の実態分析、廃プラサンプル採集・材質及び特徴分析、各利害関係者の意識調査を行い、東アジア・東南アジア地域における廃プラ問題の環境・政策・技術課題を導出した上で、分野横断的な研究アプローチから得られた科学的なエビデンスを中心に、地域研究の視点で国際比較分析を行う。
