Outline of Research at the Start

本研究の目的は、「水」をめぐる社会的意味の変化がガンジス上流域の農業振興や人口移動の問題にいかなる影響を与えてきたかを明らかにすることである。具体的には、水資源開発をめぐるせめぎ合いを「資源としての水」の問題として、水害リスクへの対応を「リスクとしての水」の問題として、聖地としてのガンジス川の観光化の是非をめぐる論争を「聖なるものとしての水」の問題として整理し分析する。
