Outline of Research at the Start

南西諸島・九州南部にはシィクワーサーやタチバナが自生し、それらに由来する在来カンキツが栽培されてきた。しかし、これら貴重な遺伝資源は減少しており、それらを利用した固有の文化も消失する危機にある。本研究では在来カンキツ遺伝資源の分布を調査し、これらの遺伝的独自性や多様性を明らかにする。また、利用の際に重要となる機能性を評価してその有用性を解明する。さらに、過去から現在までの利用法や文化的価値を現地および文献調査する。これらの結果から在来カンキツを評価し、その特長を解明する。
