Outline of Research at the Start

ブータンでは近年仏教に基づく新しい「秩序のイデオロギー」が強化され、動物の屠殺や狩猟が強く忌避されるなか、地域の文化と社会に重要な影響を及ぼしてきたアニミズムの思想と実践が周縁化され、その信仰が正統性を失いつつある。本研究では、ブータンと北東インドのチベット仏教圏の村落社会を対象に、仏教教義に基づく不殺生のイデオロギーが人間を含む種間の相互関係をいかに規定し変容させているのかを、アニミズムにおける動物供犠と日常的な信仰実践のゆらぎを手がかりに分析する。また、種間の平等性に基づく新たな環境観を、現代の環境保全政策に取り込むための有効な方法を、政治人類学と環境人類学の知見を参照しつつ考察する。
