Outline of Research at the Start

本研究は、日本国内のニシン漁業崩壊を誘因とし発展した北環太平洋における子持ちコンブ漁業の現状とその地域社会への影響を、南東アラスカとカナダ北西海岸部の比較地域研究から検討する。特に、①地域先住民社会における生業資源としての子持ちコンブの歴史生態史を明らかにしつつ、②国際的に異なる先住民族の法的立場がいかに資源管理の実践に影響を与えているか、そして日本市場の子持ちコンブ需要は、生産地域の食文化・食生活実践にどのような変化をもたらしているのか、という３つの問いを中心に構成する。
