Outline of Research at the Start

本研究は、地域の固有性が強いアラブ・イスラーム農村社会において、人口学の視点から人口再生産にかかわる社会規範に焦点を当てた研究である。
申請者は、1997年、2005年、2013年にイスラームの伝統的な社会規範の強いヨルダン農村部において人口学調査を実施し、地域社会が望ましいとする子ども数を産むことが社会規範となり、それが女性の避妊の受容の障害となることを明らかにした。
この一連の研究の延長線上に本研究は位置付けられ、社会規範、避妊行動、避妊の実施、出生率という人口再生産にかかわる一連の要素の継時変化を検証する。
