Outline of Research at the Start

1990年代初頭、諸外国から日本軍「慰安婦」被害者の名乗り出が相次ぐ中、日本人「慰安婦」の被害者性が不可視化される傾向がみられた。近年、日本人「慰安婦」被害者であった城田すず子（仮名）（1921-1993）が1990年代以前から被害証言をしていた事実への関心が高まっており、舞台作品なども生まれている。本研究では、それらから「慰安婦」言説の変容を捉え、城田の経験への理解が一層広まるよう議論を展開する。彼女が公娼制度の時代も売春防止法制定後も国家に性を支配・統制され続ける中、トラウマに苛まれながら、日記を書き、鎮魂碑の建立を実現させることなどで生き延びていた様子を手記類から読み解く。
