近年，質の高い公共空間の創出により都市再生を目指す動きが世界的に加速している．本研究は，賑わいや居場所空間の創出，防災力の強化や都市の環境改善，生態系の再生など多面的な効果を生む都市再生手法として期待できる，水辺を核とした空間再編に注目し，かわまちづくり計画の現状分析や，国内外の先進事例の詳細分析などにより，水辺を核とする空間再編の計画デザイン技術の体系化と実装化を提案するものである．
