Outline of Research at the Start

潰瘍性大腸炎における疾患活動性の評価として内視鏡所見は重要性が高い。しかし、内視鏡検査は肉体的および精神的苦痛を伴うため、敬遠する患者も少なくない。本研究の目的は、潰瘍性大腸炎患者の便画像から内視鏡的疾患活動性や病変範囲を予測する診療支援システムを開発することである。そのため、患者が便器に排便した際の便の形態的および色彩的特徴と内視鏡的疾患活動性や病変範囲との関連性を調査し、機械学習を用いた診療支援システムを構築する。本システムは非侵襲的でコスト効率が高く、かつ簡易な潰瘍性大腸炎の疾患活動性を評価する手法としての応用が期待され、潰瘍性大腸炎の診療パラダイムに革命を起こす可能性がある。
