Outline of Research at the Start

加齢や疾病，障害等による下肢機能低下は歩行能力を低下させ，要介護状態に陥る大きな要因となり，健康寿命の短縮や生存率の低下を招く．
本研究の目的は，足関節補助が可能な靴装着型歩行支援装具を開発・改良することで，下肢機能が低下した者の歩行能力を改善することである．そのために，①下肢機能低下者の歩行特性の検証，②歩行支援装具のデザイン設計，③歩行支援装具の試作モデルの製作・改良，④下肢機能低下者の歩行評価により装具の有効性を検証，⑤装具の改良と再検証，といった5事項を実施する．
この装具により，歩行能力低下を支援し，移動の自立を促すことで生活範囲を拡大し，疾病・介護予防や健康寿命の延伸に貢献する．
