Outline of Research at the Start

英語教材や試験の英語音声は聞き取りやすいものが多いが、現実世界では周囲の騒音や会話テンポの変化などを含む多様な音声の理解が求められる。つまり、教材用の英語と現実世界で使われる英語との差が生まれている。
本研究では実践的な英語力育成のため、現実世界に近い音声を用いた英語教材の開発を行う。具体的には、最小英語テスト（The Minimal English Test, MET）を基盤とした映画版METを開発し、映画の会話音声を用いた英語聴解テストと、大学入試やTOEICの得点との相関を調査する。さらに映画版METの結果から、どのような音声上の負荷が学習者のテスト得点に影響するかを分析する。
