Outline of Research at the Start	原爆攻撃後の広島と長崎を訪問していたアメリカの黒人紙記者の原爆報道について、アメリカ政府によるどのような介入があったかを明らかにすることを試みる。黒人特派員の原爆報道には、これまで知られてきた主要（白人）メディアの原爆報道とは異なる視点が含まれる。本研究では、記事をめぐる検閲の実態を明らかにしたい。また、その後冷戦が深まる中で、核実験や核開発をめぐって黒人紙はどのような監視の下に置かれたのだろうか。東西冷戦で大きな焦点となる人種は、その統制において、どれほどのファクターを占めたのだろうか。本研究ではこうした疑問に答えていきたい。
